Visit Skardu and Hunza, two scenic destinations in northern Pakistan. The road from Skardu to the Karakoram Highway has been improved to make Hunza more accessible. The scenery of Skardu Valley created by the Indus River, the splendid orchards and mountain scenery of Hunza, the lifestyle of the Wakhi people in the Upper Hunza, offer a rich variety of landscapes and people's lives. This tour can be enjoyed in different seasons: in spring when Apricot trees are in full bloom, in summer when the valley is in dazzlingly green, and in autumn when golden poplars weave a spectacular landscape.

Itinerary
01
Fly from Islamabad to Skardu. Upon arrival, visit Shigar Valley.

Morning visit to the Sarfranga Cold Desert and day trip to Khaplu valley.

Full day visit to the Deosai Plateau (National Park), which is known as the "Garden in the Sky“.
*The Deosai Plateau can be visited from mid-June to early October when it is not affected by snowfall.

Drive along the Indus River and join the Karakoram Highway. Continue north on the Karakoram Highway to Karimabad, the heart of Hunza.

Full day visit the Hunza Valley (Hasegawa Memorial School, Baltit Fort, Altit Village, etc.). In the evening, enjoy the mountain view from Duiker Hill overlooking Spantik and Rakaposhi.

Full day visit to Upper Hunza, home to the Wakhi people. Enjoy a scenic drive to Attabad Lake and the Khunjerab Pass, which forms the border with China. The day of beautiful mountain scenery.

From Karimabad to Gilgit or Skardu.

Return to Islamabad by air from Gilgit. *It is possible to move to Skardu on Day 7 and fly from Skardu to Islamabad/Karachi/Lahore on Day 8.

Itinerary
The reference itinerary is based on a domestic flight from Islamabad to Skardu, but it is possible to take a flight from Karachi/Lahore or travel overland one way. Also, the domestic flight to Skardu is a mountainous flight, and in case of flight cancellation, you will be required to travel overland from Islamabad for one night and two days. Please plan for a reserve day as well.
