The Himalayan brown bear is a subspecies of brown bear that inhabits the northern mountainous regions of India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Although they are few in number and difficult to observe, there are opportunities to spot and photograph them in Deosai National Park. Stay on a plateau over 4,000 meters above sea level, walk in the wilderness, and come look for the rare Himalayan brown bear!

Itinerary

01
Take a domestic flight from Islamabad to Skardu.

Travel from Skardu to Deosai Plateau. Visit Sheosar Lake and acclimatize to the altitude.

We will visit various Himalayan brown bear observation points over the course of three days. Includes walking on the plateau, as well as searching, observing, and photographing Himalayan brown bears.

Drive back to Skardu.

Take a domestic flight to Islamabad.

This is a special program for those interested in wildlife observation and photography. Long-tailed marmot and bird watching opportunities will also be offered.

*This is a wildlife observation tour. Please note that the wildlife and birds listed in the photos and itinerary are not guaranteed to be seen.
*Lodgings are situated on the Deosai Plateau at an altitude of 4,000 meters, and the altitude during walking observations can reach 4,200 meters or higher.
*Please bring sufficiently warm clothes, as the temperature drops in the mornings and evenings, even in summer.
