From Karachi, Pakistan's largest city on the Arabian coast, we will travel to the World Heritage Site of the Makli Necropolis at Thatta, the Indus Valley Civilization site of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa, and then to the ancient city of Lahore. We will then cross the Salt Range and continue to the capital city of Islamabad. We will travel through southern Pakistan, visiting four World Heritage Sites: Thatta, Mohenjo-daro, Lahore, and the Rohtas Fort. The rural scenery of the Sindh interior and the sight of the decorated trucks on the highway are also sure to charm you.

Itinerary

01
In the morning, we will visit the National Museum in Karachi. Then, we’ll head to Hyderabad. On the way, we will visit the World Heritage Site of the Makli Necropolis at Thatta.

Travel from Hyderabad to Mohenjo-daro. You’ll be able to enjoy the scenery of the Indus Highway along the way. After arriving, we’ll visit the Mohenjo-daro Museum and take an evening stroll around the ruins, then stay overnight at the rest house located on the ruin grounds.

In the morning, we will visit the archaeological site of Mohenjo-daro, the largest city of the Indus Valley Civilization—going early especially to avoid tourists. After that, we will head straight to Multan. Upon arrival, we will visit the shrines in Multan.

We’ll travel to Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city and ancient capital. On the way, we’ll visit the archaeological site of Harappa, an ancient city of the Indus Valley Civilization.

A full-day of sightseeing in the ancient city of Lahore (including Lahore Museum, Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque, Shalimar Gardens, etc.). In the evening, you’ll get to watch the flag ceremony at the Wagah border. For dinner, you can enjoy a meal at a restaurant overlooking the illuminated Badshahi Mosque.

A visit to the World Heritage Site of the Rohtas Fort, built on the “King's Road” during the Mughal Empire. Afterwards, you’ll head to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Best time to visit
It is possible to visit all year round, but the best time to visit is from October to March due to the higher temperatures during the summer months.

Itinerary
This itinerary can be customized. It is possible to combine visits to Sehwan Sharif, the Khewra Salt Mine, and the World Heritage Site of Taxila. Please contact us for more information.

Other Notes
The rest house in the Mohenjo-daro ruins is an old building with simple facilities. Also, as it is a government-run facility, it may be closed off at short notice.
